Volleyball Recap: Edwards County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Edwards County came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Robinson Maroons. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Edwards County to victory were Jaycee Kolb and Braelyn Troyer. Kolb had four digs and two aces, while Troyer had four digs and two assists. Those two assists gave Troyer a new career-high. Allison Groff also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Edwards County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robinson didn't served any.

Edwards County's victory bumped their record up to 26-2. As for Robinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Edwards County and Robinson will both be playing Charleston the next time they take the court. The Maroons will head out to face the Trojans at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
