Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

Oak Grove and Church Point squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Oak Grove had to settle for second. They lost 75-54 to the Church Point Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Oak Grove's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. As for Church Point, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-9.

Oak Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Church Point, they will face off against Donaldsonville on Tuesday. Donaldsonville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
