Southside Christian is 7-2 against St. Joseph's Catholic since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Southside Christian Sabres will square off against the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights at 7:30 p.m. Southside Christian is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Southside Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over Calhoun County on Friday.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph's Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Lewisville by a score of 7-0.
One reason for the win was St. Joseph's Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Walker Wolfram was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Their wins bumped Southside Christian to 8-3 and St. Joseph's Catholic to 10-2.
Everything went Southside Christian's way against St. Joseph's Catholic in their previous meeting back in September as Southside Christian made off with a 35-14 victory.
