It's playoff time, and Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mission Bay Buccaneers a 3-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Spartans have won 14 games by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mishel Villanueva and Santi German scored all three of Central's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 41 goals.

Central pushed their record up to 23-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Mission Bay, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.

Looking ahead, Central will take on Orange Glen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Orange Glen will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Central surely won't give up without a fight. Mission Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
