Baseball Recap: Villa Grove Takes a Loss

Villa Grove was the 8-7 winner over Tuscola when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Villa Grove fell just short of Tuscola by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thomas Vandeventer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Vandeventer wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Villa Grove lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Villa Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Tuscola, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Villa Grove will face off against Armstrong at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tuscola, they will square off against Cerro Gordo/Bement at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
