Football Game Preview: Clear Lake Cardinals vs. Middletown Mustangs + How To Watch

The Clear Lake Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Middletown Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clear Lake is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against St. Helena on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cardinals took a blow against the Saints, falling 36-7. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Cardinals couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Middletown had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 40-6. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mustangs just coasted through the last quarter.

Clear Lake has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Middletown, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Clear Lake came up short against Middletown in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 34-28. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
