Softball Recap: Von Steuben's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Von Steuben had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Prosser Falcons on Wednesday as they made off with a 22-12 win. Considering the Panthers have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Escalante was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeylanie Burgos, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Von Steuben's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Prosser, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Von Steuben will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
