Soccer Recap: Seaman Falls Short Against Ranked De Soto

Seaman faced De Soto in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-3. Seaman were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as De Soto apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Anna Becker and Stella Appelhanz scored all three of Seaman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Seaman's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for De Soto, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seaman will take on rival Shawnee Heights at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, De Soto is set to face off against their familiar foe Lansing at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
