Volleyball Game Preview: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Crimson Cliffs Mustangs

The Green Canyon Wolves will square off against the Crimson Cliffs Mustangs at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Green Canyon heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They came up short against Orem, falling 3-0. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Crimson Cliffs suffered their biggest defeat since March 9, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Payson. Like the Wolves, the Mustangs also had to let a streak go: they had won four straight, but that streak is no more.

Green Canyon will have to keep a close watch on Colsen Neal and Nathan Dana, a pair of players who had a big impact on Crimson Cliffs' prior game. Neal had 14 digs, while Dana had 18 assists and five digs. Neal has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times he's played.

Green Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Crimson Cliffs, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Green Canyon hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 6.4 blocks per game. It's a different story for Crimson Cliffs, though, as they've been averaging only 1.9 blocks. Given Green Canyon's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
