Baseball Game Preview: Walhalla Razorbacks vs. Palmetto Mustangs

The Walhalla Razorbacks will head out on the road to square off against the Palmetto Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walhalla will be strutting in after a victory while Palmetto will be coming in after a loss.

Walhalla took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Christ Church Episcopal 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Razorbacks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Walhalla saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tobie Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Jackson Higgs also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Palmetto didn't have quite enough to beat Pendleton on Tuesday and fell 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Palmetto's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Walhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.

Walhalla skirted past Palmetto 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Razorbacks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
