Basketball Recap: Rock Port Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ella Meyerkorth and Audrie Meyerkorth

Rock Port and Walnut Grove squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Rock Port had to settle for second. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walnut Grove Tigers. The Blue Jays have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Rock Port's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Audrie Meyerkorth, who posted 17 points, and Ella Meyerkorth, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and three steals. The game was Audrie's 13th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Tatum Vogler, who put up two points and five boards.

Rock Port's defeat dropped their record down to 26-6. As for Walnut Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.
