Preview: Mena vs. Waldron
Waldron and Mena are both heading into their Friday matchup this week after winning their previous games. Waldron kept its opponent Cedarville off the scoreboard entirely last week, winning the match 29 - 0. Meanwhile, Mena was able to grind out a solid victory over Hot Springs last week, winning 29 - 18.
Waldron started its game with a lot of points -- 27 points in the first half -- and coasted on that for the victory. Senior quarterback Trey Williams was especially active in the win, finding the endzone an impressive three times. The victory bumped Waldron's record up to 2-0.
As for Mena, it got an early lead and maintained it, starting each quarter with an advantage. No one had a larger role in the success than senior running back Justin Dean, who brought his A game into the contest. He picked up 173 yards on the ground. The win got Mena up to 2-0.
