Basketball Game Preview: Charles City Panthers vs. West Point Pointers

Charles City is 2-8 against West Point since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:15 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Charles City sitting on four straight victories and West Point on three.

If Charles City beats West Point with 36 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Charles City managed a 36-32 win over King William on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, West Point humbled Middlesex with a 62-14 victory. The Pointers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 27 points or more this season.

West Point has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Charles City, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Things could have been worse for Charles City, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-18 loss to West Point in their previous meeting back in January. Can Charles City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
