Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Regan Wilson and Alexa Sweet Lead Fruitport to Victory

Fruitport won the last time they faced Godwin Heights and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trojans blew past the Wolverines 3-0.

Fruitport's got stronger as the match went on, holding Godwin Heights to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-10.

Leading Fruitport to victory were Alexa Sweet and Regan Wilson. Sweet had 16 assists and three aces, while Wilson had nine digs and one assist. Those 16 assists gave Sweet a new career-high. Addison Bordeaux also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Fruitport was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Fruitport is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. As for Godwin Heights, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fruitport is set to square off against their familiar foe Hopkins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Godwin Heights will face off against rival Belding at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
