Basketball Recap: Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Bulkeley Bulldogs with a sharp 36-13 win. The Phoenix have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Hawkins, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Hawkins has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anyiah Crump, who had nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy will host Whitney RVT at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bulkeley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hartford Public at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
