Softball Recap: Winston County Comes Up Short

Winston County fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Cold Springs on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Chasty Garrison was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was MACI BLEVINS, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Winston County dropped their record down to 9-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cold Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14-1.

Looking ahead, Winston County will face off against Sumiton Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cold Springs, they will take on Meek at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
