Basketball Game Preview: MacArthur Brahmas vs. South San Antonio Bobcats

The MacArthur Brahmas will head out to challenge the South San Antonio Bobcats at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

MacArthur took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 59-29 victory over Southside. The Brahmas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday South San Antonio sidestepped Marion for a 50-47 win. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

MacArthur pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. As for South San Antonio, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

MacArthur suffered a grim 60-38 defeat to South San Antonio in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can MacArthur avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
