Mari Eiswerth turned in nothing short of a gem on Friday, striking out 14 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with six or more strikeouts. For the year, she has an ERA of 2.38 over 112 innings pitched.

Even though Eiswerth couldn't lead Emmaus over Northampton, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sadly, Eiswerth's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Hornets' 21-game streak of wins at home.
