Volleyball Recap: Jordan Pierce's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chaparral over Mountain View

If Chaparral was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Spring Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Chaparral fell just short of the Mountain View Toros by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Chaparral's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Pierce, who had 14 kills, eight digs, three aces, and one block. Pierce has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 35 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Ocampo, who had 14 kills, nine digs, and one block.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mountain View, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Foothill on the 17th. As for Mountain View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Buchanan on the 17th.
