Basketball Recap: Chestnut Ridge Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Chestnut Ridge faced off against Penn Cambria on Wednesday. The game between the Chestnut Ridge Lions and the Penn Cambria Panthers didn't end well, with the Chestnut Ridge Lions falling 71-54. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Penn Cambria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Rabish, who went 7 of 13 en route to 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Rabish a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Caden Gibbons, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Chestnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Penn Cambria, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

When Chestnut Ridge and Penn Cambria next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Chestnut Ridge will try to stop Bishop McCort's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Penn Cambria will try to stop Forest Hills' ten-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
