Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Benet Academy

Benet Academy barely beat Marian Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Redwings blew past the Spartans 11-3 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Redwings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sophia Rosner made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Alaina Rosner was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Esther Lynn Rossi, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Benet Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Benet Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-14. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Marian Catholic, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
