Softball Recap: Eunice Comes Up Short

Eunice fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Capitan on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6. The Cardinals' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Madison Martinez spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits.

Eunice's record now sits at 6-9. As for Capitan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Coming up, Eunice will head out to face off against Jal at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Capitan, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Mesilla Valley Christian School at 12:00 p.m. The SonBlazers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
