Baseball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Greenville last Wednesday, Greenwood came back down to earth. The Greenwood Eagles fell just short of the Wren Hurricanes by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Elliott Lantz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jayden Adams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and one double. Adams is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Greenwood fell to 3-1. As for Wren, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Greenwood will challenge T.L. Hanna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so T.L. Hanna's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wren, they will square off against Powdersville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
