The Eagle River Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Wasilla Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Eagle River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Eagle River gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against West Anchorage as they made off with an 11-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Jack Mullen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mullen was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Lierman, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ryan Mullen, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wasilla waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles. While the Warriors didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wasilla saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Lackey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Eagle River's victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Wasilla, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Eagle River took their victory against Wasilla when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
