Softball Recap: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Roxboro Community Bulldogs

Wakefield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs, falling 8-2. The loss was the Wolverines' first of the season.

Brianna Riehle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ella Lampman also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wakefield fell to 3-1. As for Roxboro Community, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wakefield will welcome Wake Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakefield's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Wake Prep Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Roxboro Community, they will be playing at home against South Granville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
