Cedar Crest is 0-10 against Hempfield since May of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Black Knights at 4:15 p.m.
Cedar Crest made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Penn Manor, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons fell just short of the Comets by a score of 6-4 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered against the Comets since April 3, 2023.

Jackson Custer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Cedar Crest: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Skylar Sherman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Hempfield strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Garden Spot with a sharp 9-3 win. The Black Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Derek Katch was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Katch was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hempfield got a big performance out of Joshua Toole, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brayden Hostetter was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Hempfield's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Cedar Crest, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Cedar Crest might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Hempfield in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
