Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Burke Bulldogs
After a string of three wins, the Cross Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Burke 49-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cross has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Cross saw an underclassman step up: Caden Ramsey dropped a double-double on 16 points and 19 rebounds. The contest was Ramsey's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamez Way, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Cross' defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-4. As for Burke, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross will take on Baptist Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Baptist Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Burke, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lowcountry Leadership at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lowcountry Leadership is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
