Basketball Recap: West Mesquite Comes Up Short

West Mesquite easily dispatched Spruce last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The West Mesquite Wranglers fell just short of the Seagoville Dragons by a score of 34-31 on Tuesday. The Wranglers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 45-34.

Antaijha Brown was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 13 points. Jayla Long was another key player, putting up eight points.

West Mesquite dropped their record down to 13-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Seagoville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-17 record this season.

West Mesquite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-47 win against North Mesquite on the 31st. As for Seagoville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-24 victory against Spruce on the 31st.
