Basketball Game Preview: McGregor Bulldogs vs. Grandview Zebras

McGregor hasn't had much luck against Grandview recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The McGregor Bulldogs will challenge the Grandview Zebras at 6:30 p.m.

McGregor is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-31 heartbreaker at the hands of Troy. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since December 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, Grandview waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They snuck past the Wildcats with a 48-43 win. Given the Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Wildcats are ranked 706th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grandview pushed their record up to 31-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for McGregor, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

McGregor was taken down by Grandview 72-24 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can McGregor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
