Softball Game Preview: Tome Titans vs. Bohemia Manor Eagles

The Tome Titans will head out to challenge the Bohemia Manor Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Tome lost 13-3 to Oxford on Tuesday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tome saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Woods, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bohemia Manor got the win against Edgewood on Monday by a conclusive 11-1. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Lyla Wescoat (2027) made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Kylee Bergman (2025) Salisbury was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Elizabeth Marcum (2027) was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bohemia Manor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edgewood only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Bohemia Manor and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Tome, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Tome came up short against Bohemia Manor when the teams last played back in May of 2016, falling 5-2. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
