Basketball Game Preview: Wellington Wolverines vs. Lake Worth Trojans

Wellington and Lake Worth are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Wellington Wolverines will welcome the Lake Worth Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lake Worth will be up against a hot Wellington squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Wellington blew past Inlet Grove 70-44 on Tuesday. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lake Worth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 66-65 win over Hialeah Educational Academy.

Wellington has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Lake Worth, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
