Union Local proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shenandoah Zeps, sneaking past 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Jets as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Union Local had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 15-8.
Ameera Saunders paced Union Local's offense, picking up 26 kills. Saunders got some help from Delaney Butler and her 49 assists. Alli Kellaway controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
