TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -
North Florida Christian (Tallahassee, Fla.) took an early lead against Agape Christian Academy (Orlando, Fla.) and held on for a 51-6 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Eagles put up seven points. North Florida Christian scored on a touchdown run by
Jonathan Vickers.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Vickers in the first quarter, NFC was up 31-6 at the half.
The Tallahassee school grew its lead to 45 points entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Joey Giaritelli to
Adrian Hill.
North Florida Christian's most effective player was
Justin Moore. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Agape Christian Academy's lone touchdown came on a run in the second quarter.
NFC came into the game allowing 16.8 points per game.
A 40-0 North Florida Christian victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Agape Christian Academy defeated Trinity Christian Academy 12-6 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Eagles, who were coming off a 28-24 defeat at the hands of Florida State University in its previous game.
North Florida Christian (6-1) will play a non-conference game against Wakulla next week, while Agape Christian Academy (2-5) will take on Crescent City also in a non-conference game.
