Softball Recap: Scripps Ranch Wins Going Away Against Madison

The Scripps Ranch Falcons got the win against the Madison Warhawks on Thursday by a conclusive 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brooke Griffin, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sydney Gloff also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Scripps Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only posted a batting average of .217.

The victory made it two in a row for Scripps Ranch and bumps their season record up to 8-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Madison, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Scripps Ranch will be playing at home against Mira Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will square off against Clairemont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
