Football Recap: Carsonville-Port Sanilac Sets Scoring Season-High Against Merritt Academy

Carsonville-Port Sanilac scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 36-30 to the Merritt Academy Mustangs. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Rosser, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 68 yards and one score. Rosser also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks, forcing one fumble, and making 11 total tackles (1.0 for loss). Jack Bobo also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Carsonville-Port Sanilac's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Bobo with 2.5. Carsonville-Port Sanilac received some extra help from Bobo, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

It was another big night for Ethan Wolfe, who rushed for 265 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 60 yards and one TD for Merritt Academy. Wolfe really tore up the turf during one magnificent 95-yard run. Brody Westhouse was another key player, rushing for 56 yards and one score.

Carsonville-Port Sanilac's record now sits at 0-7. As for Merritt Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
