Soccer Game Preview: Springfield Township vs. New Hope-Solebury

The Springfield Township Spartans will venture away from home to challenge the New Hope-Solebury Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Springfield Township will head out to face New Hope-Solebury after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. The Spartans fell just short of Plymouth Whitemarsh by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Springfield Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Plymouth Whitemarsh are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, New Hope-Solebury can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Norristown a 2-0 shutout.

New Hope-Solebury's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Springfield Township, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-2.

Everything went Springfield Township's way against New Hope-Solebury in their previous matchup back in August, as Springfield Township made off with an 11-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
