Softball Recap: Oxnard Yellowjackets vs. Lompoc Braves

Oxnard extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 16-7-1 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lompoc Braves. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Braves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Shyanne Saxton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Haros, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

As for Lompoc, their win bumped their record up to 13-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 9th.

On Lompoc's side, Lily Drysol made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
