Football Recap: Sheldon Comes Up Short

Sheldon extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They took a blow against the Elk Grove Thundering Herd, falling 51-0. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 867th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 251st).

As for Elk Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. That looming 51-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Elk Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hudson Hall, who rushed for 35 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Hall also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Thundering Herd are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Chase Dyer, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD.
