Recap: Pendleton Buckaroos vs. Gladstone Gladiators
The Pendleton Buckaroos couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 50-41 to Gladstone on Wednesday. Pendleton lost against Gladstone in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-45 score last time.
Despite the loss, Pendleton still got an impressive performance from Benito Jennings, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Cary, who scored 8 points.
Pendleton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Gladstone, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pendleton will take on St. Helens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (St. Helens is ranked 21st, while Pendleton is ranked 20th). As for Gladstone, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Scappoose at 7:00 p.m.
