Recap: North Charleston Cougars vs. Beaufort Eagles
The North Charleston Cougars lost against the Beaufort Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. North Charleston lost to Beaufort at home by a decisive 47-32 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Charleston in their matchups with Beaufort: they've now lost three in a row.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Talasia King, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taja Porcher, who scored ten points.
Beaufort's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Crosby, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Davariyah Smith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
North Charleston bumped their record down to 1-11 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Beaufort, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.
North Charleston will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Philip Simmons at 6:00 p.m. As for Beaufort, they will head out on the road to square off against Hanahan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hanahan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
