Basketball Recap: South Kingstown Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Kingstown). Everything went their way against the Chariho Chargers on Friday as the South Kingstown Rebels made off with an 82-56 win. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

South Kingstown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Wilson out in front who posted 22 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Sward, who had 20 points and five rebounds.

Wilson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: South Kingstown was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Chariho, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Kingstown will welcome North Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chariho, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Stonington at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
