Softball Game Preview: Washington Warriors vs. Brookings Bobcats

The Washington Warriors will face off against the Brookings Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

Washington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Brandon Valley, who was ranked third at the time (Washington was ranked fourth). The Warriors walked away with a 5-1 win over the Lynx on Monday.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Brookings was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They fell 6-1 to Stevens. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Washington pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brookings, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Washington took their victory against Brookings in their previous matchup last Friday by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
