Soccer Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Schuyler

Lexington faced Schuyler in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Minutemen fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Lexington couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Edin Lima Miranda, who's now up to two this season.

Lexington's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Schuyler, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lexington will venture away from home to challenge Papillion-LaVista South at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Schuyler, they will head out to square off against Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Schuyler are facing Northwest at the right time seeing as Northwest are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
