Santa Fe faced Rio Rancho in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Demons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rams. The victory was some much needed relief for the Demons as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Fe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Payten Chavez, who had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Chavez has posted over her last eight matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Glynis Chung, who had six digs and four aces.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Rio Rancho, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Santa Fe will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Capital at 6:00 p.m. on October 7. As for Rio Rancho, they will challenge Organ Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
