Volleyball Recap: Minnetonka Skippers vs. Lakeville South Cougars

If Minnetonka was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Osseo last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Minnetonka Skippers lost 3-0 to the Lakeville South Cougars on Thursday. The Skippers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-21.

Lakeville South's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josie Tingelhoff, who had 12 digs. Tingelhoff is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Wagner, who had five digs and two aces.

Minnetonka's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Lakeville South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rosemount the next time they take the court. Lakeville South will head out to face Rosemount at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Minnetonka will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
