Baseball Recap: Bert Corona Charter Comes Up Short

Bert Corona Charter had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it seven. They came up short against the Lakeview Charter Lions, falling 24-6. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 16-4 to the Lions when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Lakeview Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.

For Lakeview Charter's part, Eric Perez was incredible, getting four hits. Those four hits gave Perez a new career-high.

Coincidentally, Bert Corona Charter and Lakeview Charter will both be playing Sun Valley Magnet the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Pioneers at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Lions will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
