Basketball Recap: Craig County Comes Up Short

Craig County lost against Bland County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Craig County Rockets were dealt a 58-16 loss at the hands of the Bland County Bears. The Rockets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bland County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tinley Worley, who went 7 of 14 en route to 21 points and six steals. That's the most steals Worley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bailee Thompson, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Craig County's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Bland County, their record now sits at 9-5.

Craig County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-10 defeat against Narrows on the 3rd. As for Bland County, they have also already played their next contest, a 79-34 win against Giles on the 4th.
