Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Lumberjacks vs. Eaton Eagles

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oakwood can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Eaton Eagles on Saturday. The Lumberjacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on October 1st.

Oakwood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-13.

Eaton had a senior duo take command as Lyli Collier had eight digs and three aces and Charlee Ruebush had six digs and three aces. Ruebush is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Eaton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.

Oakwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eaton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Waynesville on the 22nd.
