Softball Recap: West-Oak Takes a Loss

After flying high against Walhalla two weeks ago, West-Oak came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Daniel Lions by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The Warriors have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brylee Whitfield was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie Youngblood, who scored a run and stole three bases.

West-Oak's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Daniel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West-Oak will head out to challenge Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Daniel, they will challenge Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
