Basketball Game Preview: Suncoast Chargers vs. Palm Beach Lakes Rams

The Suncoast Chargers will square off against the Palm Beach Lakes Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Suncoast has three straight wins, Palm Beach Lakes has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Suncoast beats Palm Beach Lakes with 49 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Suncoast managed a 49-43 victory over Jupiter on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Chargers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Warriors are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Lakes' game on Tuesday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Palm Beach Gardens 57-51.

Suncoast's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Palm Beach Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

Suncoast was able to grind out a solid win over Palm Beach Lakes in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 63-52. Does Suncoast have another victory up their sleeve, or will Palm Beach Lakes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
